Ice Age Adventure & Genting Behind The Scene Tour

There's no greater place to escape locally during the hot spell other than Genting. With the recent closure of Genting Theme Park, one might thought Genting no longer have attracting point to visit, at least not until the completion of World First 20th Century Fox Theme Park. Well honestly speaking, I went up to Genting last week and I had so much fun there. This is what I did there.
Ice Age Adventure which landed at Resorts World Genting since 1st September 2014 and had brought upon great amount of fun to the entire family and a money can't buy bonding session between the children and parents. Held in Genting International Convention Centre meeting Room 7 - 12, kids could really spend the whole day there enjoying the 3 main key zones namely Ice Age theatre, Ice Age Playground and Ice Age Meet and Greet with a wide variety of activities awaits them.
At only RM20 (or RM18 for Genting Rewards Member), you are granted access to all the zone and not forgetting there's also free Mat Kool ice cream and lucky dram for all visitor. Upon entering the main entrance, you will be greeted with tons and loads of photo opportunity backdrop.
Here are just some of the many 3D art you can pose with and it might even take you the whole day to finish everything, just to give you a brief idea how many area you can explore. There is also mini arcade for the children where they could stand a chance to win cool prize too.
For those who's children love to draw on the wall can now encourage them to do so without heartache at the Cave Drawing section. This is where you can encourage and motivate your children to unleash their potential to the max.
You maybe accidentally stumble upon Ice Age character along your journey and this I could promise you, even a grown up couldn't resist the opportunity to have photo taken with the famous characters.
One of the favorite zone for all Ice Age fan have to be the Theatre section with screening of Ice Age's popular short films like Gone Nutty, No Time for Nuts, Continental Crack Up 1 & 2, and lastly Surviving Sid. There will be 12 time slots available at 30 minutes per session starting from 10.15am right up to 9.15pm.
Right after the movie, patrons get to take part in an mimicking activity where each get to walk away with some cool Ice Age merchandise. We were lucky to have a big kid who mimic Sid on stage.
Lastly of course there is the Meet-and-Greet zone where again there were some on ground activity for the children to win some cool prize. Whether it is selfie, activity, or to dance along to the rhythm of the groovy music, be warned, your child might not wanna leave this zone, not at least until the character take their break.
Besides the mentioned key zone, there are other attraction too within the compound. When you're there be sure to located and collect the stamp so that you can have this really cool DIY bookmark of yours.
There is even a colouring zone for the kids where it would later transform into their very own Ice Age mask.
Once you felt tired, proceed to the lucky draw area and treat yourself to an icy cold Mat Kool ice cream at the lucky draw area. Trust me, it is a refreshing stick of ice cream with surprise in your mouth.
Ice Age Adventure is open from 10AM to 10PM and will be ongoing until 26 October 2014, so you might not wanna miss this.

If Ice Age is not your cup of tea, then perhaps you might wanna consider Genting Behind The Scene Tour. The almost 3 hours tour offers participants valuable insights into the resort daily operation. It was initially a month campaign and due to high number of visitor, it turned into a monthly routine now.
The tour begin at Visitors' Galleria where it showcase how it all began. It took about 30 minute for the showcase and it highlight past, present and future development of Genting. It is truly inspirational to learn how the founder Lim Goh Tong made his empire here. What's more exciting is that 20th Century Fox theme park project that is estimated to complete by end of 2016 and if you didn't know yet, it is world first 20th Century Fox theme park, truly made us Malayasian proud.
Next in the tour is where participants get to explore the back stage management in Genting International Showroom. This is where the team handle all the lighting, sound and effect during any show or concert.
Then come one of the most interesting tour among all, a visit to Malaysia largest hotel laundry where participant could have first hand view and learn how hotel manages all the dirty linens.
Last from the tour itinerary is where participants get to  make their own sushi roll or cupcake and share it with their loved one. The hands on experience is interactively fun with chef guiding you by the side.

I think I'm a qualify Genting visitor through out these years and there were times where I got bored not because the place is not exciting, but rather I've tried almost everything there and ran out of activity beside chilling. I have to admit I was having plenty of fun with Behind The Scene Tour as it was again a new area to explore and things to learn.

So for those who are eager in taking part in this tour, you can register for the tour at the First World Theme Park Wristband Tagging Counter located at the First World Plaza or registration counter at FVision City Video Games Park. Tour is priced at RM20 per pax and starts at 2.15PM. For further details on Ice Age Adventure or Behind The Scene Tour do visit www.rwgenting.com

Pretz n Beanz

Introducing the latest addition to Chilla Cup Group, the first Pretz n Beanz is located in SOHO Mont Kiara, a place where you can find good food and good hangout venue. Though there's a limited public parking space, you can always avoid the trouble waiting for one by parking inside on of the private parking and it cost only RM1 for first 3 hour (if I remember correctly).
Though the seated space inside may not be as big as other restaurant, it has pretty cozy interior with bright lighting and it is as comfort as home.
As the name suggest, you can expect lots of pretzel based dish and it is the only place in Malaysia where you can find pretzel pizza as claimed on their Facebook as follow
Since it is from Chilla Cup Group, coffee too is their strong point, wait not just coffee, they do focus on all their beverage too. So the next time you walk in, even if you're ordering fruit juice, order with peaceful mind. This is cause they use pure fruit and juices are extracted all from the fruit without artificial sugar or water.
(Left) Apple Juice - RM11.50 (Right) Cappuccino - RM11
Fun Fact 1: They used 4 apple (or more) to fill each cup of fruit juice.
Ice Blended Mocha - RM13.90
This is one of their best selling beverage here but I didn't get to try, so you might wanna do so during your visit.

Green Tea Latte - RM11.90
I had Green Tea Latte that night and I am loving how they each blend together so well, and not forgetting the fact that it wasn't overly sweet.
Hot Pepper Chili Chicken Pretzel Pizza - RM14.90 (Regular) RM20.90 (Large)
Norwegian Delight - RM15.90 (Regular) RM21.90 (Large)
Appearance wise, both flavour look alike, simply because it is cover with a generous amount of cheese over pretzel base. Generally they do give generous amount of ingredient and there will be mean in every bite you had. The satisfaction doesn't stop there, with bursting flavour that wasn't overpowering other component. The base is freshly made and had crispy crust on the outside fluffy texture inside.
Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel - RM5.90
Basil Cheese - RM6.90
Filled Pretzel with Sweet Potato - RM10.90
Like the pizza base, these pretzel are freshly made and are equally good with each flavour offers different texture and taste profile to the taste bud.

Cinnamon Sugar was pretty decent and is definitely good to share with loved one to open up the appetite.

Basil Cheese on the other hand has a rough but aromatically crispy texture that melts your heart.

Sweet Potato pretzel is the one I love most. Fluffy pretzel wrapped with crispy layer and stuffed with sweet potato over baked cheese. It is sinfully worth a cheat day, and I wouldn't mind having this 'cheat day' everyday. The sweetness from sweet potato combine well with the salty cheese and each bite bring me closer to heaven.
Caramel Butter Thick Toast - RM13.90
This has to be one of the fluffiest thick toast I had so far, topped with thick cream on top, this dish is pretty decent despite the fact that I'm not a fan of caramel. I would love to try some other topping of thick toast like Garlic, Chocolate and Cheese.
