Facebook Suicide Alert

It has been brought to worldwide attention that "committing suicide via Facebook" is becoming not just trend among those who feel like ending their precious life but also it became a concern among others.
On one moment, sharing your activity with others seem to be fun and interesting. People will eventually drool over your meal, envy on your vacation, or even feel touch by your love story. But when people started to abuse such beautify feature, it would turn out to be a nightmare, not just to your friend but everyone else around the world.
By nightmare I do mean sharing stuff like animal abuse/torture, the process of ending your life, and etc. Can you imagine what a sick society we've evolved into? Thus with the rising concern over such issue, Facebook is launching suicide risk alert system where it allow user to report any attempt / contemplating suicide.

Hopefully with that, it would aid in detecting and reducing the number of suicide.

World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles

Just came back from yet another Alien invasion movie, all thank to Nuffnang for the invites. Meet quite a number of famous blogger like Shanon Chow (http://www.shannonchow.com/), Jackie Loi (http://www.jackieloi.com/), Joshua Wong (http://tallboyz.blogspot.com/), Jess (http://www.jessying.blogspot.com/), Henry Tan (http://babebaboon.com), Saimatkong (http://blog.saimatkong.com/), and others just to name a few.
Please note that even though this is not your typical scary alien movie, it is neither your kids oriented 'friendly' alien movie too. As the title suggest, the Alien are invading planet earth for some reason and without warning.
They come in various form and destroy almost anything and everything that is living on earth. It was then up to a group of brave marine to decide the fate of mankind after the operation based was totally damaged by these unidentified object.
Storyline wasn't that fresh I must say and the CG wasn't blended in too well if I could critic further, but it was not up to the extend where it look fake, just that there's still plenty of loophole.
The one thing I love best about World Invasion is that the 'never ending' ending part, in other word it would make you feel that's the end, but actually there's more to come, if you get what I mean. Not sure if any girl will dig such movie, but if you are those who enjoy killing zombie in large amount, booming and gunshot here and there, enjoy playing 3rd person army style game, and/or all kind of explosive element, you should be blown away by the extreme action this movie has to offer.
The movie ain't just about alien and fight back, it also come with relationship bonding which in some way spice up the execution. It could be a good movie for you to sit back and relax and not thinking much about what come after.

The Adjustment Bureau

The Adjustment Bureau is a movie about designated fate and love among 2 being. in short.
Staring Matt Damon, the recent Oscar nominated actor, who play as politician David Norris, who's affair between him and a ballerina is affected by mysterious forces keeping the lovers apart.
The mysterious force were actually "angel" (at least some people call em that) where they make sure each and every being life according to plan (fate). David and his love however felt that they both are meant for each other and will do anything just to be together, and this really upset the Angel, and they will do anything to keep them apart.
Find out how they maintain what they believe and how they escape being detected despite every move and though has been preseen. The Adjustment Bureau however is not you typical romance movie, but it would still melt you if you are in to it and if you get what they are up to.

Mars Needs Moms

Would like to dedicate this post to Jeremiah from http://www.directordrive.blogspot.com/ for the kind invitation to the premier screening of Mars Needs Moms with Nuffnang and ChurpChurp.
There are plenty of reason Alien abduct human, but abducting only well disciplined mom is something I've never heard off before.
Personally, I think Mars Needs Moms is by far the most family oriented animated movie with not just cute and great texture and character rendering, but also funny and touching.
The aliens were abducting mom from earth to abstract their finest and purest discipline gene in order to produce robot with such knowledge that would take care of their newborn. The son however accidentally ended in Mars while trying to save her mom. From there his adventure in saving mom begin.
As usual, such adventure wouldn't work if there is no partner / sidekick that aid you throughout the way, and wait there are more than one..
Also it seems that no matter how beyond the technology is, pet is a lovable gadget that will spice thing up. In short the plot was okay only, but credit have to be given to the rendering, animated texture, and 3D effect. Points would also be credited for the touching scene and highly kid educating element too.

Unknown

Unknown one of the movie I've been looking forward to this year simply because it is staring Liam Neeson. Started to treat Liam as my idol ever since the movie Taken follow by A-Team. Since there were delay on the screening in Malaysia the movie Unknown has been pushed to March from January 2011
Beside the cast of the movie, another interesting point for the movie is that it is able to dig my curiosity from its trailer. How one could not only lost his identity after a car accident, but also everything else in his life. Cool huh?
Waking up from coma, finding it hard to believe that everything he once own, is no longer his, even his wife. There ain't much I could write about the movie because theses are the stuff that surprise you while watching it. What I love is the twisted plot.
Although it was Liam Neeson who took the leading actor spot, I am not gonna judge differently. Personally I think the movie is sort of draggy where it would be better if more action were to deploy.

Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son

Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son is also known as the 3rd installment for the series and they retain Big mama staring Martin Lawrence which Trent has been replace with Brandon T. Jackson. Thank to Daniel Tai for the ticket.
The first thing that strike your mind is probably yet another man in disguise type of movie and hell yeah it is as you thought. Thus there is nothing much in terms of creativity and fresh concept here.
Both father and son have to go undercover because Trent (the son) witness a murder scene and is on the wanted dead list, which the father is on the lookout for a pendrive which carry evidence to prosecute some criminal.
Thus off they go hiding in a girl school where you know what's gonna happen when you put a teenage guy in girls only compound.  The hilarious scene was not all over the movie, and was rather shatter here and there. Oh, I kinda feel like watching a Disney movie where it was filled with musical scene on and off.

The Rite

The Rite is all about exorcism. Even so there is no need for fear as you wouldn't see anything scary than your ordinary horror / thriller movie.
The Rite is actually adopted based on a true event where an American (Michael Kovak) seminary student travels to Italy to take an exorcism course.Michael is someone who doesn't believe in God and what's more demon. He would challenge and question every weird incident where others believe is the possession of the devil which often make sense in such given situation.
He was later send to follow Father Lucas on every exorcism count. Still nothing could convince him until things started to happen on him. It turn from bad to worse when it gets out of control.
So how does this young learner perform the exorcism and how it all went out to be is what you have to watch to find the answer. Remember this movie boiled down to individual mind on whether or not it is scary or bored.
